Parque Explora. Medellín, Colombia.
Parque Explora is an interactive science museum for the appropriation and dissemination of science and technology in Medellín. It has emerged as a symbol of innovation in an open-to-knowledge city, with its four red boxes that seem to float across a green horizon.
Explora offers over 300 interactive activities distributed throughout its 22,000 square metres of internal area and 15,000 square metres of public space. It holds an aquarium, a 3D theatre, a television studio, a children’s centre, an open area full of dinosaurs, a temporary exhibit hall, and restaurants, cafes and souvenir shops. The museum also hosts conferences and meetings in its 300-seat auditorium that transforms into 6 smaller conference rooms.
Parque Explora is conveniently located next to the metro stop Universidad, in the North sector of Medellín, and can be easily accessed through MetroPlus and by taxi (for a maximum fare of 10 USD).
